With some help this weekend I have started to refit and weld in place the new steelwork around front of the bus and the nearside entrance door pillar and step support rail as the following pictures show the progressive steps taken during this lengthy progress.

Grinding off surplus weld heel Front door pillar welded in position A friend acted as fire marshal with extinguisher at the ready, as you can see sparks fly everywhere.
Welding step support rail to door pillar New front panel temporary clamped to new door pillar Next stage is to remake wooden step support rail and 1st upright and two bottom rails to wheel arch. |
